Old Dominion Punches Ticket

Mar 8, 2011 10:04 AM

Frank Hassell scored 22 points and guard Kent Bazemore's added 14 as Old Dominion held off a fierce Virginia Commonwealth rally to defend its CAA tournament title with a 70-65 victory.

The Monarchs are the best offensive rebounding team in the country and their size, length and activity makes their zone defense particularly difficult for opposing teams to solve.

Monday’s win over VCU was Old Dominion’s ninth straight.
